Spotlight Retail Group is seeking a proactive and dynamic WorkCover Specialist to join our team on a 12-month contract role on a part time basis to cover a Parental leave absence.
Reporting to the Group Safety Manager, this position will be responsible for effective management and administration of WorkCover claims across all jurisdictions to minimise the financial impact of workplace incidents. Sound collaboration with stakeholders providing advice in relation to their rights and obligations while assisting our team members throughout the life of a WorkCover claim, focusing on sustainable Return to Work.
What You Will Be Doing
- End-to-end WorkCover claim management
- Providing support to injured team members
- Effective communication with insurers
- Conducting investigations to gather information
- Partnering with managers to facilitate reintegration
- Analysing data for continuous improvement
- Collaborating with medical and rehabilitation professionals
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and procedures
- Contributing to strategic safety initiatives
- Reviewing files to mitigate injury impacts
About You
- At least 3 years of experience in the Workers Compensation industry
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., in human resources, law, or health and safety)
- Strong knowledge of WHS and WorkCover legislation
- Understanding of industrial and employee relations principles
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive and analytical mindset
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Proven negotiation and advocacy abilities
In this role, you will provide timely delivery and advice, supporting the overall safety strategy and technical advice to our valued team members and management teams. This integral role requires a passionate and motivated individual who aims to deliver positive outcomes with care and empathy while achieving business objections, a Win/Win!
