Spotlight Retail Group, Australia's leading specialty retailer, is seeking a talented Assistant Financial Accountant to support our Head of Inventory Integrity, working alongside the Rebates Analyst to ensure the accurate management of vendor rebates and financial reconciliations.

What you'll do:
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Rebates Analyst to establish and optimise vendor rebate processes, ensuring accurate capture and management of all contractual rebates across the group.
- Data Integrity: Drive the development and implementation of robust systems and procedures to maintain accurate and complete vendor and rebate setups.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive rebate reports for Merchandise teams, working in tandem with the Rebates Analyst to provide actionable insights.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and key stakeholders, addressing queries and resolving issues related to rebates and payments
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with the Accounts Payable team to streamline inventory-related invoice processes and facilitate a smooth exit for inventory vendors.
- Financial Reconciliation: Take ownership of the GRIR balance sheet reconciliation, partnering with AP and store teams to ensure timely and accurate clearance of balances
- Inventory Analysis: Conduct in-depth inventory shrink reporting, working closely with the Stock Integrity team to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
What you'll bring:
- You must have at least 1+ year of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional Qualification: Actively pursuing a CA or CPA qualification.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP is beneficial.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a knack for prioritizing tasks.
- Interpersonal Skills: A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
