As our Facilities Category Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic delivery and management of essential services (including fire safety systems) and vertical transport categories across our national portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations in every Australian state, while driving high standards in vendor management and service delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and delivery of essential services (fire safety, emergency systems) and vertical transport (lifts, escalators) categories for all SGH assets.
  • Ensure strict compliance with essential services legislation and standards across all Australian states.
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, including minor capital works projects.
  • Drive strong vendor management practices, including contractor performance, negotiations, and portfolio performance reporting.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to meet delivery expectations with minimal financial and operational risk.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of facility-related issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Review monthly financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with compliance, Work Health & Safety, and company standards.
  • Be responsive to after-hours contact centre requirements as needed.

 

 

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities management, with a strong focus on essential services (fire safety) and vertical transport.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance and essential services regulations in all Australian states.
  • Proven track record in vendor management and contractor performance.
  • Experience managing building maintenance, inspections, and minor projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • IT literate (Microsoft products).
  • Strong customer service orientation and a collaborative team approach.
