Spotlight Retail Group's Analytics & Insight Team, a critical support function for our key brands (Spotlight, Anaconda, and Harris Scarfe), is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst for a 12 months contract role
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering data-driven decision-making across the business by deeply understanding our customers across all touchpoints, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement through robust testing and measurement, and partnering closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful insights and drive high performance.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead and deliver impactful data-driven solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the business to identify and solve complex business challenges using advanced analytics techniques (AI/ML, predictive modelling, etc.).
- Develop and deliver insightful reports and dashboards: Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights and create compelling visualizations (dashboards, reports) to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Champion a data-driven culture: Drive a culture of data-driven decision making by providing expert guidance and support to business leaders.
- Continuously improve and innovate: Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, enhance analytical capabilities, and implement new technologies to gain a competitive advantage.
- Contribute to the development of an Analytics Centre of Excellence: Share knowledge and best practices within the team and across the organization to build a strong foundation for data-driven success.
About You
- Must have 7 + Years of Experience: Proven track record of success in a Retail Analytics role, leveraging various data sources (POS, Loyalty, Campaign, Digital, Supply Chain, etc.).
- Tertiary Qualification: Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Advanced SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL coding skills are essential.
- Data-Driven Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to generate creative solutions to business challenges using data analysis and consultancy skills.
- Data & Technology Expertise: Solid understanding of modern data technologies (Cloud data warehousing, AI/ML, Data Engineering, Data Governance).
- Reporting & Visualization: Working knowledge of dashboarding tools (Power BI, Tableau) and/or Digital Analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics).
- Strong Communication & Presentation: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate data insights.
- Data Quality & Accuracy: High attention to detail with the ability to handle incomplete or imperfect data.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactive and innovative approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong team player with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
