About the role
As a Retail Buyer, you will be crucial to Anaconda’s continued success in delivering the right outdoor products at the right price and the right time. Managing your dynamic and inspiring team, you’ll work to achieve the optimum balance between anticipating market trends and maximising profitability through smart purchasing.
What you will be doing
- Interpreting weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales data and trend analysis to construct quarterly Sales Projections.
- Overseeing budgets and creating financial strategies for upcoming seasons.
- Participating in all Supplier meetings and industry events.
- Cultivating and strengthening relationships with our Supplier network.
- Engaging in effective negotiation with Suppliers.
- Conceptualizing, creating, and developing exclusive product lines with select Supplier partners.
- Staying abreast of emerging Suppliers and market trends, identifying opportunities to expand the Department and boost sales.
- Presenting product ranges for approval to the leadership
- Implementing in-season price adjustments and actively managing future inventory orders.
- Leading, guiding, and fostering the growth of Junior Buyers or Buyer’s Assistants
About You
- You must have at least 3+ years’ of demonstrated experience as a Retail buyer
- Retail experience with hard goods and Outdoor Camping category will be desirable
- Merchandising/Financial Planning experience is essential
- Experience in reporting analysis to identify trends
- Sound knowledge of current fashion sportswear trends
- Existing knowledge of JD Brand partners & store base/ANZ website
- Ability to effectively build relationships with stakeholders across all levels
- Negotiating and Influencing skills is a must
- Experience training, developing and mentoring a team
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and a high attention to detail
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically across PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
