Your Mission

In this specialist role, you will define the "look and feel" of our apparel and footwear categories. You will lead the end-to-end strategy—from identifying global fabric and tech trends to ensuring our range delivers the perfect balance of style, function, and profitability across all Australian markets.

What You Will Be Doing

Trend Leadership & Range Architecture:

• Curate Seasonal Collections: Drive growth by identifying emerging trends in outdoor apparel and footwear, ensuring our ranges remain relevant and "on-brand".
• Strategic Sourcing: Develop market-leading buying and ranging strategies that maximize business profitability.
• Supplier Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with global apparel and footwear brands and manufacturers.

Financial & Inventory Excellence:

• Hit the Numbers: Deliver on sales, margin, and stock ROI targets.
• Optimize Seasonal Flow: Manage complex inventory levels across sizes and colors by analysing KPIs and collaborating with planning specialists.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Use internal and external data to anticipate customer needs and stay ahead of the competition.

Brand & Promotional Strategy:

• Storytelling: Work with Marketing to develop market-specific promotions that highlight the technical benefits and lifestyle appeal of our clothing and footwear lines.
• Collaborative Design: Coordinate product ranging across departments to ensure a cohesive look throughout the store.

Team & Compliance:

• Lead with Impact: Coach and develop your team to meet high performance standards.
• Quality & Standards: Ensure all products comply with trade practices and safety regulations.
• Trading Terms: Oversee the negotiation and implementation of favourable trading terms.

About You

• Experience: 3+ years as a Business Manager/Category Manager in a fast-paced retail environment, specifically within Apparel or Footwear.
• Soft Goods Expertise: Deep understanding of merchandise cycles, seasonal indenting, and retail operations.
• Financial Acumen: Proven expertise in business financials, retail purchasing, and open-to-buy management.
• Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills to secure the best brands and terms.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel (domestic and international) to attend trade shows and visit suppliers.
